Review: Kohl's Exclusive LORAC's Alter Ego Matte Lipsticks

I purchased this lipstick set at Kohls.com for $35.00. This is such an amazing deal due to the fact that purchasing one of LORAC's Alter Ego lipsticks would be $16.00 in the original gray packaging. For this lipstick collection set, you will only pay $7 for 5 lipsticks, that's drugstore pricing! I not only purchased this because of the great deal, but because the beautiful gold packaging (sucker for gold packaging and I'm a matte lipstick junkie) and they were matte lipsticks I hadn't tried before.

LORAC says about this lipstick collection: Instantly transform your look with LORAC's Alter Ego Lipstick Collection. These lipsticks coat your lips in highly-pigmented color with an opaque, matte finish. Alter Ego Lipsticks contain antioxidants such as Acai Berry, Pomegrante, Grape Seed Extract, and Vitamins C and E. Whether you wish to be a Free Spirit, a Duchess or a Vixen (even if just for a night), this limited Alter Ego Lipstick Collection comes in a gorgeous range of colors to create any look you covet. Embrace your every identity and dress up your lips with LORAC.

Lipstick Reviews
All the lipsticks are so smooth putting on, even with my lips being completely chapped from the colder weather that I am not used to. These matte lipsticks don't tug when I put them on and they felt so moisturizing throughout the wear. The color of all the lipsticks are highly pigmented and opaque in one swipe. The scent of lipsticks have a similar Vanilla smell to Mac's lipsticks but a bit sweeter. I enjoy the scent on my lips but if you can't stand fragrance on your lips, this might not be for you. The only negative about these lipsticks is that the wear is not very long, it gives me a good 3-4 hours and then wears off; however, in those hours I must admit that I eat and drink. They all leave a nice stain to the lips. The lipsticks themselves are consistent in the way that they apply on the lips and they are not drying at all.

Duchess: This lipstick is a light pink nude. The color of the lipstick is very similar to my real lip color but pinker. This lipstick would be perfect for anyone looking for a pink nude. It is a beautiful color but not for my tan skin. This color is just okay for me.
CEO: This lipstick is one of my favorites from this collection. It is such a beautiful color and I have been gravitating to this kind of lipstick lately. It is such a pretty shade of brownie pink/mauve nude lipstick (If that makes sense?). I can see myself wearing this lipstick for an everyday look any day of the week. Not only do I love love and love this lipstick, but how awesome and empowering is the name! This lipstick is so similar to Maybelline's "Touch of Spice", except this lipstick is a touch darker. It is no wonder I love this lipstick so much since Touch of Spice is one of my favorite lipsticks!

Seductress: This shade of lipstick surprised me on how much I actually loved it! I loved how calmed this lipstick is. I have some corals that can look too vibrant on me or have too much orange, but this is the perfect shade. I think any skin tone can rock this shade!
Vixen: This is a beautiful blue based pink lipstick. I love that this lipstick does not wear too bright, where it is almost unwearable. I have found that some of the bubble gum pink lipsticks I own really take a life of its own and it's like I'm not wearing the lipstick, the lipstick is wearing me. This is a perfect shade for any pink lip lover!
Free Spirit: This lipstick is a true purple with a blue undertone. Most purple lipsticks I have are more pink toned and this is not the case for this lipstick. I own both Mac's Heroine and Milani's Glam purple matte lipstick and they are both beautiful, but they are both pink/red purple lipsticks. This lipstick is a beautiful true purple and everyone needs this unique purple lipstick in their collection!
Now, here are some lip swatches. Please excuse my chapped lips, they do not reflect on the product I am reviewing. My lips have not enjoyed this winter and have been chapping more than usual.

Roadtrip Sephora Pitstop Haul

Hello, just wanted to post a quick pitstop haul I made while on the road. I was able to stop by a Sephora in a JcPenney's where they were having holiday sets on clearance. I picked some of those sets up and a NARS Audacious lipstick in (obsessed with this amazing color but couldn't justify purchasing for the price..) Anita. My husband forced my hand and who can say "no" to that lovely face... Haha.

I have no regrets.

I have more makeup reviews coming soon, stay tuned.
